A Meeting At The River
This painting evolved from a combination of recollections of walks by streams on Dartmoor and listening to a beautiful piece of music by Ry Cooder & Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt entitled 'A Meeting By The River'.
Oil on canvas
145cm x 120cm
These expressive, landscape oil paintings are inspired by a fascination with reflections and looking through water to the riverbed. I love how, reflected in the water, the sky and the ground become one entity, changing with the clouds and movement of the water, and becoming almost an abstract painting in constant evolution. These oil paintings are not a direct representation but an expression of a recollected memory. They evolve organically with the process of applying paint, within the formation of a fluid composition.
