String Composition (Leaf Caught In A Cobweb)

I noticed that a leaf had been caught in a cob web that had formed on one of my metal sculptures. The notion that my 'made' sculpture that derived from nature, is now a site for natural sculpture somehow had a sense of context.

Found Composition 16

My current photographic 'string project' is based at a redundant mine near Plymouth. I was attracted by a shredded tarpaulin that had been covering the windows and had decayed into fine blue string. The tarpaulin had been damaged by the elements and consequently formed randomly-drawn lines, which alter depending on the conditions. I re-visit on a fairly regular basis and record these drawings being fashioned.
